How to use MILES

MILES is a web application for Registering, Monitoring and Analyzing shipments.
This is a Step-By-Step process.

1. The shipment process starts with a request to move an article from one location to another.
• Use menu 'Request' to Create, Edit and Delete shipment requests.
2. To apply with the request you create a shipment: committing a forwarder to make a route
   and to pick-up and deliver goods.
• Use menu 'Shipments' to Create, Edit and Monitor shipments.
3. To match Requests with Shipments you create an Assignment.
   In the assignment you make sure that the shipment route corresponds with Request's pick-up
   and delivery location and also that the retemperature-regimes for request and shipment are equal.
• Use menu 'Assignments' to Create, Edit and/or Cancel the Assignments.
• Use menu 'Assignments' to Edit and Monitor the stages the request goes through.
  Different stages are: 'Created', 'Assigned', 'Picked up', 'Delivered'
4. The system is also packed with the menu-option to manage 'Master data'.
   These are data that stay more or less stable during the whole process.
   Master data concern the pick-up and delivery locations and also data
   concerning the ForwardingCompanies.
5. To get a helicopter-view of the whole process and all shipments MILES comes with
   different charts and tables that always represent the latest data in the system.
   You find the tools foor Analysis in menu 'Reporting'.
